The Tejas Star Reading List provides a recommended reading list developed by librarians within the Texas Library Association. The Tejas Star committee annually selects a recommended reading list of bilingual English/Spanish books or books written in Spanish. The purpose of the list is to encourage children ages 5-12 to explore multicultural books and to discover the cognitive and economic benefits of bilingualism and multilingualism. During this session, attendees will learn the history of the program, become familiar with some of the reading list titles, and  leave with activities to incorporate into lessons and story times.
