We all know that independent reading improves test scores, and how students are more likely to read when they select the text. We will demonstrate how to introduce new books to your students in a fast-paced, but fun way. By the end of it, students will be self-directed to books they will actually want to read! We will also share how some ELA teachers manage class time in the library and help students stay focused with book specific activities. Audience participation is helpful, as we will use your feedback to help you customize for your students.

Librarian, Comal ISD- Canyon High School
This is my 6th year in the library after being a secondary social studies teacher for many years. I'm interested in programming and activities to collaborate with teachers as well as ideas to connect students with books that appeal to them.
